Happi Candle Is More Than Just A Business

The past few weeks have been crazy busy. Despite the lockdown it’s been a challenge to turn my business to online and go digital. I already had online websites established with steady flows of orders each week but now more than ever with the shop being shut and all my stockists being closed across the UK, it’s been a case of thinking fast and getting things online.

In the middle of all of that I had a new business launching in April with my business partner Ben. We both attended Wensleydale School together here in the Yorkshire dales.

Both of us have always had an interest in business and earlier this year we got talking about what we could do. Both loving candles we came up with the idea of creating a new candle brand here in Yorkshire.

After many meetings and research we came up with the idea of creating a vegan friendly candle, which has 100% natural ingredients and the materials can be recycled. We wanted to create something as eco and natural as possible. With the current state of the environment we both really care about the planet and being as kind as possible to it.

Happi candle, was due to have a launch party at the start of April, but because of Covid-19, we had to change our plans and launched an online website. We then began marketing the candles online.

Both of us have acquired business and entrepreneurial skills over the years, so bringing all the elements together and launching the product was a great success and we’ve been getting some lovely reviews about the candles. We have huge plans to develop the brand into further products.

Now more than ever it’s so important to support your favourite small business across the UK as they need your help to keep going. Behind every small business there is someone or a group of people who work all hours to make their dream come true.

This week marks Mental Health Awareness Week, and we wanted to shine a light on mental health to help raise awareness, fight the stigma and encourage others to speak out.

To us Happi candle is more than just a business - it’s a feeling. We are working on campaigns and messages for young minds and anyone who struggles with mental health to speak out and be themselves. It’s still very much a taboo topic but if we can help inspire someone, just one person than that makes a difference to us.

Over the week we are going to be sharing our own experience with mental health, talking about it alongside our new mind collection. Most people suffer from some sort of mental strain in their lifetime. It’s estimated that more than 264 million people of all ages suffer from depression.

The new candles at Happi called Mental Clarity, Stress Relief, Anxiety Assist and Relaxation all have therapeutic benefits aimed to reduce anxiety, enhance moods, relieve stress and tension and have calming effects to assist you in your day to day activities.

If you are struggling with mental health, then please seek help, talk to your family and friends.

It’s okay not to be okay.
