Help The British Heart Foundation This Yorkshire Day
Yorkshire Day is a day to celebrate the achievements of the UK’s largest county. Steeped in history, culture and filled with esteemed characters, the county is unique.
We are proud that our iconic Heart of Steel sculpture resides in Sheffield and this Yorkshire Day, the British Heart Foundation (BHF) is encouraging people to engrave a loved one’s name on the Heart of Steel to help raise money for life saving medical research.
Sadly, there are around 670,000 people living with heart and circulatory diseases in Yorkshire alone. 1,200 deaths in the county each month are caused by heart and circulatory diseases – that’s a death every 40 minutes.
The Heart of Steel has space to engrave 150,000 names on it. An engraving is the perfect heartfelt gift or a way to remember someone special whilst also raising vital funds for research into heart and circulatory diseases this Yorkshire Day.
