Hot Aire! Fundraiser Concert - DEC Ukraine Appeal
Hot Aire! Concert Band, were the perfect hosts at their fundraiser concert on Saturday 21st May at St Peter’s Church, Shipley. Their brilliant Musical Director Stephen Bradnum was delighted to announce that their concert exceeded all of their expectations and £2,637.00 was raised, which will now be donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee charity for the war in Ukraine.
To play the Ukrainian National Anthem in such a beautiful setting of St. Peter's Church was very emotional.
Hot Aire! Concert Band were joined by Fresh Aire! Concert Band, Hall Royd Brass Band and Ilkley Stage Singers, (a performance choir launched in only January this year), featuring five soloists and a special guest soloist from Bradford and Airedale Youth Choir. They sang a beautiful sixteen minute Medley from Les Miserables.
Ukraine ribbons hand made by members were worn as a special touch. The Massed Bands Finale ‘Procession to the Cathedral’ by Wagner performed by Hot Aire! and Hall Royd Brass Band, was an absolutely awesome ending to a monumental concert!

"I feel incredibly proud of Hot Aire! to have hosted such a successful fundraising event for the DEC charity. All four groups who participated performed to such a high standard. To play the Ukrainian National Anthem in such a beautiful setting of St. Peter's Church was very emotional. We feel extremely humbled to have contributed to helping the people of Ukraine."
