Ingram Road Primary School Pupil's Christmas Card Named Best In Yorkshire

A Christmas card designed by 8-year-old Ramona, a pupil at Ingram Road Primary School in Leeds, was chosen as the best in Yorkshire in a competition by the recruiting experts, Hays Education.

The competition saw over 1,500 entries from Primary, Early Years and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) settings competing to be featured on a Christmas card that will be sent to schools all over the UK.

Ramona’s design was selected by the judges as the best in the region out of 372 entries because of the joyful depiction of the three reindeers and their wish of a “happy merry Christmas”.

Ramona will win £50 in vouchers, an arts and craft gift and two framed certificates of their winning design.

Kat Roberts, Art Coordinator, Ingram Road Primary School: “Ingram Road prides itself on our artistic talent. We are thrilled for Ramona and she can't believe it!"

Nicole Walkley, Senior Business Manager, Hays: “Ingram Road Primary School submitted over 100 Christmas card entries from children of all ages alongside numerous other schools in Leeds. It was a difficult judging process, but we loved Ramona's reindeer design, so she was picked as our Leeds office winner and she then went on to win in the Yorkshire and North East Category. It was an absolute pleasure to attend the school’s celebration assembly to thank all the children for their hard work on their entries and to present the award and prize to Ramona! Huge congratulations to her"
