Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours is giving adventurous Brits the chance to discover one of the world’s least-known destinations by offering five-star trips to Iran for the first time.

Its new 15-day Persia Unveiled itinerary, featured in the operator’s new 2020/21 Middle East & Africa collection, gives guests the opportunity to sample the splendours of civilisations dating back more than 3,000 years.

Starting and finishing in the capital, Tehran, the two-week itinerary takes in the very best of Persian art, history, food and architecture. Highlights in the city include the Sa’dabad Palace complex, which contains 18 palaces belonging to the royal families of Qajar and Pahlavi, the chance to see Iran’s prized Crown Jewels at the National Jewellery Treasury, and an optional caviar tasting experience.

The tour also includes other major historical sites across the centre of Iran, including two days in Shiraz, famed for the ancient Vakil Bazaar packed with spices, antiques and carpets; the iconic Pink Mosque and the Eram Gardens.

Guests also visit Yazd, renowned for the brooding Zoroastrian Towers of Silence; and the Silk Road city of Isfahan which is best known for its wide tree-lined boulevards and the incredible World Heritage-listed Jameh Mosque, perhaps one of the best examples of Islamic architecture in existence.

Prices start at £4,895 per person based on a 6 September 2020 departure.
Other new destinations for 2020 include Oman and Israel.

All prices include all flights, private airport transfers, gratuities, wining and dining experiences, a selection of Scenic Enrich experiences and daily excursions from which guests can tailor their trip.
