It’s a Dog’s Life in York!

The Grange Hotel in York is inviting pooches for a stylish mini-break following the launch of its menu of ‘dog-friendly extras’.

All dogs staying at the hotel will receive a homemade Pooch’s treat bag along with a dog bowl for them to use during their stay. For the ultimate indulgence, The Ivy Brasserie at The Grange Hotel will arrange a pup-friendly breakfast made up of succulent pork sausages whilst owners can enjoy dishes from the breakfast menu featuring locally sourced Yorkshire produce.

Dog-friendly ground floor rooms are within easy reach of the outdoors for doggie walks. Owners Jeremy and Vivien Cassel can recommend walks in the nearby area inspired by where they take resident dog Buster.

Suggested locations include the beautifully landscaped Museum Gardens where dogs are welcome on leads and the River Ouse where dogs can enjoy a dip in the water or an off-lead runabout on the vast areas of open grassland that frame the banks of the river.

Youngsters can also get involved with the hotel’s new ‘What Buster Did’ activity. Kids and their dogs can embark on a walk around York with a printout trail provided by the hotel taking them to some of the iconic sights resident pooch Buster has visited including the York Minster and The Clifford’s Tower. Upon successfully completing the trail, kids will receive their very own Buster cuddly toy to take home with them.

The Grange Hotel is a luxury hotel in a Grade II listed building situated in the quiet residential area of Bootham, within easy walking distance from the city centre of York and a short stroll from the River Ouse.

Rates at The Grange Hotel start from £210 staying in a double room on a B&B basis. Dogs are welcome to stay at The Grange Hotel at a cost of £20 per stay which includes a homemade Pooch’s treat bag and a dog bowl.

The What Buster Did Activity is free for kids aged 3 – 11 staying at the hotel.
