JPG Completes Major Logistics Project At Goole 36

JPG Group has successfully completed engineering consultancy works for logistics developer Tritax Symmetry to deliver the first phase of a major new development at Goole 36 Enterprise Zone.

The full civil and structural engineering project incorporated infrastructure works and drainage for the site as well as structural engineering for the construction of a 232,150 sq ft distribution warehouse that will be occupied by Croda Europe Ltd. The speciality chemicals manufacturer is to use the facility as its Customer Excellence Centre, distributing products made at the company’s UK manufacturing sites as well as the European delivery of products made across its global network.

JPG is already familiar with the location having consulted over many years on the delivery of the adjacent 305-acre Capitol Park, a major distribution hub success story for developer Sterling Capitol.

Chris Harding, Managing Director at JPG Group said.
“We are delighted to complete our second project with Tritax Symmetry following successful delivery on the first phase £100 million logistics building at Symmetry Park Darlington. We have now also been retained for phase two proposals. This project presented a number of technical challenges, both associated with the geotechnical properties of the site and also the operational requirements of Croda Europe”

Freddie Oakey, Associate Development Director at Tritax Symmetry,
which is the dedicated logistics development company of Tritax Big Box REIT plc, said,
“We were pleased to work with JPG as a valued partner on this regionally significant project. JPG’s knowledge of the regional landscape is considerable, and we hope to maintain a continued relationship as we strategically move to increase our investments across Yorkshire.”

DLA Architecture designed the scheme and GMI Construction was the main contractor.

Strategically located adjacent to J36 on the M62 motorway, Goole 36 Enterprise Zone is one of Yorkshire’s largest and most high-profile commercial development sites providing excellent access to the motorway network, the UK's largest inland port of Goole and the main East Coast rail line. Siemens Mobility recently announced plans to build their £200m rail facility on site covering a 67-acre plot, which will create nearly 700 new jobs, along with an exciting partnership that will build a new rail innovation and enterprise centre. Other site occupiers include Tesco, Guardian Industries and Drax Plc.
