Lakeland Inn To Reopen After Makeover
The Brackenrigg Inn
The Brackenrigg Inn overlooking Ullswater in the Lake District will re-open on April 22nd as the first step in a three-year makeover transformation.
The hostelry is just five minutes’ walk from its ‘sister’ outlet: Another Place, The Lake.
Guests staying at The Brackenrigg will have full use of everything on offer at Another Place including its indoor swimming pool and outdoor hot tub, Kids’ Zone, three restaurants and library.
The Brackenrigg will build on its local heritage while adding a contemporary design standard, to create a unique Lakeland experience that features roaring fires, real ales and good food centred on local producers.
The longer-term Stage 2 plan is to re-establish the inn’s microbrewery and tap room, the ‘Brack n’ Brew’ brewhouse, which was set up in a converted stable block and ran from 2015 until 2022.
Externally, six acres of meadows will include the development of a kitchen garden and orchards to supply produce to the kitchens at both The Brackenrigg and Another Place, an events meadow for feast nights and summer dining; a nature-inspired children’s play area and BBQ and fire pit areas with further potential for more outdoor accommodation.
Judi Blakeburn, Another Place CCO, said: “Following the success of Outside – which extended the hotel’s guest experience with a treehouse, shepherd huts and Glasshouse – we were looking for other ways to enhance the Ullswater experience for our guests.
“The Brackenrigg Inn offers that in spades. It’s a country pub in the truest sense, the beating heart of local life where a community gathers and connects.
"We’re excited to build on that with our unique Another Place perspective, bringing culture, conscience and care together to create a place that celebrates tradition but feels welcoming and modern.”
The Brackenrigg Inn is par of the Another Place family.
