Lamborghini Expands UK Dealer Network With New Leeds Showroom

It shows a lot of confidence to open a brand-new supercar dealership in the current economic climate but that’s what the Parks Motor Group has just done. Alongside its existing McLaren showroom now sits the UK’s eleventh Lamborghini dealership.

Located on the south east side of Leeds, with easy access to the M1 motorway, the expansive site has ample room to display both new and pre-owned vehicles and fills a void in the Italian manufacturer’s UK coverage. No more treks across the Pennines now required…

The UK is an important market for Lamborghini as it is the largest in Europe and global sales this year are looking to reach 8,000 cars. This is quite an achievement when not so long ago that figure just topped 1,000.

With stable finances as part of the Volkswagen Group clearly facilitating the growth in sales, I can report that the UK order books are bulging. Expect to wait around six to nine months depending on the model and in order to maintain exclusivity, it is unlikely that UK supplies will increase. Many impatient customers will no doubt therefore look at pre-owned models to satisfy their craving.

Lamborghini is of course renowned for its supercars and the UK is certainly one the most discerning markets in the world. The aim is always to offer exciting cars of the highest quality, with customer satisfaction at the forefront of the company’s mind.

The move into the burgeoning luxury SUV sector was carefully considered. The marque’s distinctive DNA needed to be incorporated into this more family orientated vehicle and having now had the opportunity to drive the Urus, they have undoubtedly succeeded.

Over 70% of Urus buyers are new to the marque and it has greatly increased the appeal to female drivers, not especially attracted to the company’s more hard-charging supercars.

Whether Lamborghini expands still further into the GT market remains to be seen, but for the time being this would seem to be unlikely. The continued consolidation of the existing models is the immediate intention and there is undoubtedly some behind the scenes work on electrification, something that cannot now be ignored even by a comparatively small and specialist manufacturer.

The company sees Yorkshire as one of the fastest growing regions for its sales, so this brand-new dealership looks set to prosper.

The engaging team are well placed to guide prospective buyers through the range of cars and the personalisation options. This can include a trip to the factory in Italy if so desired. Most will be content with the computerised configurator to create their dream car.

The Parks Motor Group are experienced at selling across a broad range and their philosophy met Lamborghini’s demanding requirements. Director Ross Park said of the opening:

“We are delighted to be appointed to the Lamborghini franchise and to open this new Leeds location. Park’s Motor Group has a stated commitment to growth through providing the best possible service to our clients, which reflects the demands of Lamborghini and its discerning clientele. The investment made in this new showroom and an expert team demonstrates our commitment and enthusiasm for playing a significant role in Lamborghini’s future success in the region.”

Also in attendance was Andrea Baldi, CEO of Automobili Lamborghini EMEA Region. He commented:

“We are very pleased to officially open our new Leeds dealership, and welcome Park’s Motor Group to the Lamborghini family. There has never been a more exciting time for the Lamborghini marque and our growing number of owners, with an exceptional three-strong model range and Lamborghini’s continuing tradition of ground-breaking achievements in design, technology and performance.

“Complementing our production cars and limited edition series is the broader Lamborghini world, comprised of exclusive events, exciting exploration of art, culture, heritage and the best of ‘Made in Italy’, and we look forward to welcoming clients from throughout Yorkshire and the northeast to these experiences.”

As part of the opening day celebrations, I was invited to join a select gathering of local journalists for a drive through the Dales. As exciting as it sounds, you can read all about my time behind the wheel very soon.

In the meantime, why not take time to call in at Lamborghini Leeds. You will be assured of a warm and friendly Yorkshire welcome.
