Lionel Richie, Westlife And Supergrass Are All Heading To Scarborough Next Summer

Three more acts have been announced for the Scarborough Open Air Theatre next June. The line up is looking very impressive – with more acts due to be revealed soon.

Returning to Scarborough following his sold out show in 2018 is Lionel Richie. He will performing hits from his extensive and much loved repertoire from his days in the Commodores to his solo career. Expect to hear Three Times a Lady, Hello, Dancing on the Ceiling and Running with the Night.

I saw him in Scarborough on his first visit and he was the consummate performer – he even mentioned that he saw people swimming in the North Sea on his way to the venue! The global superstar performs at the venue on Tuesday 9 June.

Westlife are one of the UK’s top selling album groups of the 21st century and now they are going to bring their Stadiums in the summer tour to Scarborough on Wednesday 17 June. They will be performing tracks such as You Raise Me Up, Swear It Again and Flying Without Wings.

Supergrass were one of the most distinctive groups to come out of the Britpop era. A greatest hits album is due in January to be followed by a UK tour. Remembered for their quirky hit song, Alright the song was a pop masterpiece that led to a global hit.

The band split up in 2010 though the band members have gone on to lead successful solo careers. The band declared their improbable comeback in September in a suitably bold manner taking to the stage unannounced at Glastonbury Pilton Party to run through greatest hits set. The Scarborough show is on Saturday 20 June 2020.
