Little Alf’s Meet & Greet

It’s one week since Little Alf’s meet and greet at Middleham open stables. I can’t believe how fast time is now flying and we are nearly into May. Alfie has just about lost all his winter coat so he is looking like a completely different pony and enjoying the light nights.

Last Friday (Good Friday) it was Little Alf’s first meet and greet of the year at Middleham open stables, the sun was shining and got up to a lovely 24 degrees. If anyone came to see Alfie you will have seen him sunbathing in the sunshine. I even gave him my sunglasses for 10 minutes so he could enjoy the sun!

As always I was overwhelmed with the response from the public. It was so nice to meet so many of Little Alf’s fans who had travelled far and wide to see him. People had come from London, Ireland, Scotland, Cumbria and Cardiff to see him in person which was truly so lovely. I had a really busy morning signing books while Alfie posed for pictures and enjoyed being cuddled.

After a few hours we headed back to our home in the Yorkshire Dales and Alfie was ready for an afternoon of sleeping and relaxing in the sun. I was also very tired and enjoyed the afternoon in the paddock with him and the rest of my horses.

For me and Alfie it was a record breaking day and we sold out of books in two hours. I seem to use the word overwhelming quite a lot but I was really shocked at the response from the morning and so thankful to all the people who continue to support us.

Due to Friday being so busy we enjoyed the rest of Easter relaxing at home, eating chocolate, carrots for Alfie and enjoying the sunshine. It was nice to have an extra-long weekend with the bank holiday.

This week I have been in the office working on the next Little Alf book which I hope to have released this October. Alfie has been out in the paddocks most of the week with his best friend Pepper. Last night there was a huge thunderstorm which he wasn’t very impressed about but luckily he has his stable so he can get out of the rain.

I’m hoping the weather is nice this weekend so me and Alfie can head out for a walk and I can do some more training for the Great North Run this September…
