Local Skin And Nutrition Event To Mark National Nutrition Month

A Skipton based Skin Specialist and Ilkley based Nutritionist and Dietitian are teaming up for March’s National Nutrition Month and hosting a free Facebook Live, looking into the benefits of good nutrition and the impact this has on the skin and skin concerns.

Helen Turnock, based at Velvet Beauty Studio in Skipton, and Barry Cullen from Livewell Dietitian in Ilkley, are collaborating with the aim to give people a better level of knowledge on foods that can help give better skin health and help treat stubborn skin concerns, as well as considering why it is so important to look at what you are putting into your body when considering skin improvement.

The event is being held online to mark National Nutrition Month, whose awareness aim is to get people to “learn about making informed food choices and developing healthful eating and physical activity habits”, says EatRight.org.

The session will cover a presentation based around how good nutrition is linked with skin health and how to incorporate it into your daily life, and there will also be an opportunity to put your questions forward.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your knowledge into the skin and what you put into your body!

"So many people believe that there is a magical cream out there that will fix everything, and although these can help in treating skin concerns, it’s crucial to look at what you’re feeding your skin internally too”, Helen says.

The event is free to attend and will be broadcast live on Facebook on Monday 1st March at 6pm, however it can also be seen later on replay for those who can’t make the live event.
