New Captains For The Boathouse In Windermere

Windermere marina waterside bar The Boathouse Bar & Restaurant is welcoming new captains at its helm.

Entrepreneurs and local boaters to Lake Windermere Steven Whiston and Liam Clarke have taken on the lease at the popular local eatery which first opened under the management of Geoff Perrygrove and Ben Ashworth in 2013.

The pair decided to sell the leasehold to focus on family and new business interests.

The modern bar and restaurant includes a 60-cover bar with 40-cover veranda, as well as first floor function room space for 60 and additional 20-cover space on the balcony overlooking the lake.

New leaseholder Steven said: “I’ve often used the services at The Boathouse when I’ve been mooring at the Windermere marina and have seen how well managed and respected the bar is by the local community.

“When I heard that the lease was available for purchase it seemed natural to me to add this business to my portfolio and ensure it continues to provide for the local community as well as many tourists visiting the Lakes.”

Joint leaseholder, Liam added: "Similarly, Steven and I are regulars at the Marina, both being boat owners who frequently utilise the boathouse.

"We recognise the substantial potential of the property and are excited about the possibilities to further enrich the business in the upcoming years."
