Chris Bolder’s villagers remain in fourth place in the Northern Premier League East Division standings after been held to a score draw by West Yorkshire’s Pontefract Collieries.

After falling behind before the break thanks to a Jack Boyle strike, Josh Whiteley converted his twelfth goal of the campaign to keep the villagers in the hunt.

With the Colls claiming the opening chance after six minutes, it was evident it was going to be an entertaining afternoon of football at the Dransfield Stadium.

Ferriby could quite easily have been two up after twenty minutes with Levi Tarbotton hitting the bar and Josh Whiteley seeing an effort denied.

The visitors had some entertaining spells of their own and found themselves ahead on thirty-four minutes after Jack Boyle capitalised on a rare defensive error.

Josh Whiteley and Lewis Dennison both offered the home side a way back in, but neither were able to hit the target.

After the break, it was a new half but more of the same endured as shouts of handball rang around the Dransfield from a Josh Whiteley free kick, however the referee was having none of it.

It was on the hour though that the villagers best chance came; spot kick awarded and up stepped Josh Whiteley to convert for his twelfth of the season.

The entertainment inevitably continued as the half wore on with both sides creating ample opportunities without conversion.

In the final moments, Pontefract had multiple chances to seal it but were denied by some fantastic goalkeeping from the Ferriby number one, Ben Bottomley.
