Now 100 Hits - Even More Forgotten 80's (Sony/Universal)

If you listen to any of the radio stations playing songs from the 80's you will probably have come to the conclusion that they keep playing the same tracks. There were of course a lot more hits from that decade which do not get as much publicity.

Most of the artists here on this 5 CD compilation had bigger hits, but here you will find some of their lesser hits, for example Dexy's Midnight Runners will always be associated with Come on Eileen but do you recall Jackie Wilson Said (I'm in Heaven)? Likewise Soft Cell will bring to mind Tainted Love but what about Bedsitter?

Of course there are plenty of one hit wonders too. Junior had a big hit in 1982 with Mamma Used To Say, it's a wonder that no one has covered the song again. Cliff Richard is represented with Dreamin'.

Some of the tracks though sound very much of their time, for example Living By Numbers from New Muzik and Hyperactive! from Thomas Dolby.

There are lots of memories here too with Mari Wilson and Just What I Always Wanted, Batley's own Robert Palmer and She Makes My Day, Liquid Gold with Dance Yourself Dizzy and the unforgettable Why from Carly Simon.

With 100 songs here it is a great compilation for making any long car journey fly by.

I rate it 4 out of 5
