Olly Murs - On Tour
Jeremy Williams-Chalmers, Arts Correspondent
A decade has disappeared since Olly Murs finished in second place on the X Factor. The former call centre employee has since gone on to be something of an all-round icon. Not just popular for his cheeky boy next door persona and understated good looks, he has delivered 6 Top 10 albums, presented numerous shows and even become a TV talent show judge. With his latest album You Know I Know having peaked at #2 last year, he is currently on an epic arena tour to celebrate his first decade at the top of the charts.

And boy, what a night he delivers. Filled with stunning, but understated and playful videography and flawlessly timed static imagery to round off and begin each song, the tour is packed to the brim with iconic radio hits and some well chosen deeper album cuts.

Although the obvious anthems Kiss Me, Heart Skips a Beat and Wrapped Up are obvious stand outs, it is the cleverly selected covers (Freed From Desire (Gala), What Makes You Beautiful (One Direction), It Wasn't Me (Shaggy)) that add an extra dimension to the show and allow the storytelling to veer away from just nostalgia.

Olly Murs is a world class showman, whose star is unsurprisingly still growing. Any man who can deliver the poignant Dear Darlin' and move a whole arena without any effort, is more than worth their star power.
