Over Wadsworth Moor
White. A white frost, a white mist,
White breath steaming.
A white sun breaking through,
Its white light gleaming.
Yellow. A warm sun, bright sky;
Then day sinking, dying.
Twilight lingering, dusk falling,
Darkness creeping, lying.
Black. A metalled road, shining wet.
Where shorn sheep shiver.
Blank black windows, dark with night,
Pale new moon a sliver.
