Review: Veri Peri Restaurant, Bradford

You might never have heard of the name Veri Peri before but once you have visited this new, reasonably priced restaurant you will know the name.

The brand has restaurants in Dubai and one of the first to open in the UK is in Yorkshire in Bradford. Situated alongside the new Broadway shopping centre, the restaurant was buzzing when I paid a visit.

The menu has your usual burgers and wraps, but it is the Veri Peri Chicken that is the dish the restaurant is famous for overseas. You might be thinking of Nando's when you think of chicken, but the difference here is that your order is taken at the table and the food is delivered to your table. The portions, it has to be said, are much bigger too, resulting in better value for money.

You can see the open kitchen with your food being freshly prepared.

I tried the Chicken Butterfly steak. It arrived looking much bigger than it appeared on the menu. If you are hungry then this is the one for you. My friends tried the Chicken Steak Burger which they both agreed was served in a good quality bread bun. The chicken they said was some of the tastiest they have tried in one of these types of restaurants.

Every piece of meat is marinated overnight to let the flavours seep right into the meat. You choose how spicy you would like your dish to be.

Soft Drinks are served self service style from a dispenser, you pay one price and you drink as much as you wish.

Desserts include favourites like cheesecake in various flavours which again came served as a generous portion. Finished off with a Coffee Latte, described by my friends, who drink coffee like there is no tomorrow, as "good quality coffee". It really summed up Veri Peri - quality food, clean restaurant served in a relaxing atmosphere.

They even do take away.
