Leeds-based consultants The Marketing Optimist, has expanded its team with the appointment of Christopher Fox, who will will support Founder and CEO Richard Michie with the day-to-day marketing of a range of B2B and B2C clients. The Marketing Optimist was established in 2016 and supports companies with strategies to turn marketing spend into sales leads, focusing their efforts on the areas which will bring the greatest return on investment such as search engine optimisation, social media, paid advertising and strategic planning. Richard Michie said: “We’re going through a sustained period of growth, so bringing Chris on to the team made perfect sense. He worked for us for a period over last summer and did such a great job we hired him full-time. Having great company culture is really important as we grow, the fact that we get on well really is key.”

Louise Longley is the latest director to be appointed in the Yorkshire region by leading insolvency specialist Begbies Traynor. Louise has more than 10 years’ experience and is a full insolvency practitioner, specialising in corporate and personal insolvency. In her new role, Louise will continue to be based in Leeds, working with the team to further develop Begbies Traynor’s support for businesses in the area. She will also work closely with the Group’s other offices across Yorkshire and the North East region, assisting with complex and larger cases. Louise commented: “I am very proud of the career I have developed with Begbies Traynor and excited to be further growing the firm’s presence in Yorkshire and the North East.”

Adam Grater is to join ABP Humber in August as the Head of Operations for all four ports, including the UK’s largest port at Immingham. Most recently the Operations Support Director for Euroports in the Netherlands, Adam has over 20 years’ experience in managing port operations around the world. The move will enable ABP to continue to deliver the highest standards of service for customers, securing future growth and cementing the Humber’s position as a vital gateway for trade. ABP Humber Director Simon Bird said: “I’m delighted to welcome Adam to ABP at this exciting time. Adam is an experienced leader with a strong track record in driving operational efficiency, as well as developing and coaching high performing teams.”
