Ryan Bingham - American Love Song (Thirty Tigers)

If you are a fan of the Black Crowes, Rod Stewart around his early 70's Faces period or even Bruce Springsteen you are going to love this new album, and if you do like what you hear you can see the man himself on tour soon in the north.

The album opens with the blues influenced Jingle and Go before the next track Nothin Holds Me Down sounds like Tom Petty has joined the Rolling Stones! You can guarantee that this will be a live favourite when he hits our shores.

The album is produced by Bingham and Charlie Sexton who is Bob Dylan's guitarist in his touring band. It is a very American sounding record, even the album cover looks like a classic American shot with a Cadillac somewhere on the America/Mexico border.

If you listen to the lyrics on both Situation Station and Got Damn Blues you get the impression he is not a fan of who is in charge at the White House.

It is not all Blues infused rockers as there are country style ballads such as Lover Girl, whilst he questions what has become of the America he once knew on the track, America.

Catch him on tour soon as he will not be playing smaller venues for much longer.

I rate the album 3 out of 5
