Skipton Car Show Is Back – Sunday 2nd June
Car enthusiasts will be flocking to the delightful market town of Skipton this Sunday for its annual car show. The historic High Street will be closed for the day, not something that happens very often, allowing visitors to wander freely around the cars.
The show was the brainchild of local car enthusiast Jay, and the first show was held in 2015. It took some organising and I was happy to promote the event. Three more successful shows followed, with the decision being made to take a break in 2019. Covid scuppered any plans for 2020 and 2021 and the Queen’s Jubilee weekend meant no show in 2022 either.
Fast forward to 2023, and under the new auspices of North Craven car enthusiast Mark Dale, the show returned once more.
This year visitors can expect the usual eclectic mix of cars, most pre-2004, with Hot Rods, Vintage and Retro Cars all likely to be on display. Motorbikes will feature too.
The show opens officially at 10am and is free to attend though donations are welcome, with money raised going to local charities.
For those who have not visited Skipton before, there are lots of other attractions in the town along with numerous places for good food and drink.
I will be there to capture all the action for Yorkshire Times readers, so why not come along too and support this worthwhile and fun event? It promises to be a great day out for all the family.
