Slingsby Christmas Cocktails

 
The in-house mixologist at Slingsby Gin has created a series of fabulous festive cocktail recipes for Christmas and the upcoming party season. Slingsby Gin uses 24 botanicals to create its award-winning product, which is the only gin to feature grapefruit as the leading and only citrus ingredient as its base.

Slingsby’s premium spirits range is crafted with pure spring water and real fruits to create the finest, award-winning British gin and vodka and makes a great gift.

I have sampled Slingsby's gins and they certainly have pride of place in my drinks cabinet. Now to try some of their wonderful cocktails.

Santa’s Martini

Ingredients:
30ml Slingsby Rhubarb Gin
25ml Strawberry Liqueur
25ml Lemon Juice
1 Egg White

Method:
Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously to create a foam.
Fine strain into a martini glass.
Option: Garnish with red currants.


Sleighbell Sling

Ingredients:
15ml Slingsby London Dry Gin
10ml Cherry Brandy
15ml Orange Juice
5ml Lime Juice
5ml Sugar Syrup
Prosecco Top

Method:
Shake the gin, juices and sugar syrup with ice and double strain into a chilled flute.
Top with prosecco and drizzle with the cherry brandy.
Garnish with an edible gold leaf.


Mulledberry Gin

Ingredients:
35ml Slingsby Blackberry Gin
50ml Port
100ml apple juice
10ml sugar syrup
Sliced orange
2 Cloves
1 small cinnamon stick

Method:
Gently heat to simmer.
Serve warm in a latte glass or mug and garnish with orange slice.


Christmas Highball

Ingredients:
50ml Slingsby Marmalade Gin
10ml vanilla syrup
10ml cinnamon syrup
25ml lemon juice
Top with Ginger Ale or Fever-Tree Spiced Orange Ginger Ale

Method:
Build all ingredients in a highball glass with cubed ice.
Top up with the ginger ale and lift ice to ensure the ingredients properly mix.
Garnish with an orange wedge.


Mulled Marmalade

Ingredients:
30ml Slingsby Marmalade Gin
150ml mulled wine
20ml sugar syrup

Method:
Gently heat to simmer.
Serve warm in a mug and enjoy with a side of gingerbread biscuit.


Pear Tree

Ingredients:
25ml Slingsby Gooseberry Gin
50ml Pear Cider
50ml Cloudy Apple Juice

Method:
Build in a chilled flute glass.
Garnish with a slice of fresh pair or a candied pear.


Comets Cosmo

Ingredients:

35ml Slingsby Vodka
15ml Cointreau
50ml Cranberry Juice
25ml Lime Juice
15ml Cinnamon Syrup

Method:
Shake all ingredients with ice and fine strain into a chilled coupe glass.
Add some festive fun and garnish with a candy cane!


Bramble 75

Ingredients:
25ml Slingsby Blackberry Gin
15ml lemon juice
10ml sugar syrup
Prosecco to top

Method:
Shake the first 3 ingredients with ice and double strain into a champagne flute.
Top with Prosecco.
Garnish with a fresh blackberry


Negroni Spiced Tea

Ingredients:
20ml Slingsby London Dry Gin
20ml Campari
20ml Red Vermouth
150ml of hot brewed Spiced Winter Tea – use two tea bags for a stronger taste

Method:
Mix in a teacup or mug with a cinnamon stick.
Garnish with a clove studded orange wheel.


Rhubarb & Winter Berry Cosmo

Ingredients:
30ml Slingsby Rhubarb Gin
10ml Triple Sec
10ml Crème De Cassis
50ml Cranberry Juice
20ml Lime Juice
Cinnamon & Nutmeg to taste – we recommend just a pinch of each

Method:
Shake and double strain into a chilled Martini glass.


Ginger Ale Mulled Marmalade

Ingredients:
50ml Slingsby Marmalade Gin
100ml Red Wine
200ml Fever-Tree Spiced Orange Ginger Ale
2tsp Honey
Cinnamon Stick
Clove Studded Orange

Method:
Gently heat all ingredients in a pan and serve warm.


Winter Sangria (serves 6)

Ingredients:
200ml Slingsby Gooseberry Gin
1 bottle of NZ Sauvignon Blanc
500ml Sparkling Apple Juice
100ml Runny Honey
Clementines
Cranberries
Sliced Apples

Method:
Build in a large pitcher with ice and stir before serving.


Blackberry & Sloe Fizz

Ingredients:
25ml Slingsby Blackberry Gin
25ml Sloe Gin
25ml Clementine Juice
15ml Sugar Syrup
1 Egg White / 25ml Aqua Fava (optional)
Fever-Tree Pink Grapefruit Soda to top

Method:
Shake the first 5 ingredients with ice and strain into a tall glass.
Top with the pink grapefruit soda.


Pear & Cranberry Mule

Ingredients:
40ml Slingsby Vodka
250ml Pear Cider
25ml Cranberry Juice
20ml Lime Juice
10ml Ginger Syrup

Method:
Build all ingredients in a large goblet with ice.
Garnish with slices of pear.
