Snake Davis Live

Snake Davis, the great saxophonist, is doing a series of on-line shows and workshops. They all go out on You Tube at 7pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday - with a sax workshop at 11am on Sundays. Details and confirmations of timings can be found on Snake’s website or Facebook page.

The shows are completely free to watch although donations may be left by dropping a tip in the virtual hat.

A uniquely talented musician, excelling in so many genres, Soul, R & B, Jazz, Pop, Rock, and World Music, Snake has played with all the giants of modern music, had long collaborations with Heather Small of M-People, made world tours with Lisa Stansfield, Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart and recorded with such as James Brown, Paul McCartney, George Michael and Tina Turner, to name just a few of the big stars who wanted his supercharged sax backing them.

He’s also toured with Soul legends, Edwin Starr, Rose Royce, Sister Sledge, Tavares, Odyssey, The Three Degrees, Mary Wells, Ruby Turner, Martha Reeves and Eddie Holman. In fact, he’s put his stamp on more than 400 major records and has backed Ray Charles, Tom Jones, The Eurythmics, George Michael, Cher and Kylie. Let’s not forget, he wrote the iconic sax solo on Take That's hit A Million Love Songs.

In order to watch, simply go to www.youtube.com/user/snakedavistv. The next Live stream broadcast will appear as a screen with LIVE in the bottom right corner. Here you can see Snake live in real time. A YouTube account will allow you to sign in and add to the live chat if you wish or just watch.

Snake is happy to chat and answer questions. Those who subscribe to Snake’s channel, which is free, will receive an email five minutes before each show reminding that it about to stream. You can watch earlier shows, uploaded to the channel about half an hour after the live stream.

Further good news is that Time Stands Still, Snake’s much anticipated relaxation album, eleven beautifully mellow tracks, is here at last. A labour of love and something Snake has been working on for several years, its appearance is timely given the amount of free time people now have at home to relax. The early review from fans, some of whom who are now using it to stretch to, to practise yoga and tai chi with, have been highly favourable.

‘It’s a collection for troubled times,’ says Snake. ‘It’s healing music, music therapy, sound that can, I hope, help improve our physical and mental conditions. This album is gentle, flowing, soft, featuring the Japanese Shakuhachi, Chinese Dizi, Indian Bansuri, the mesmerising steel Handpan and the lower breathy husky end of the tenor sax - joined by voices, Indian percussion and weaving evocative keyboard lines.’

Now is your opportunity not only to see Snake play but to chat to him and ask him about the album or about his fabulous career that has seen him play with some of the Rock and Jazz greats of recent times.

Those who wish to buy the album can order directly from Snake , using cheque or by ordering through the website (www.snakedavis.rocks) with PayPal. It’s £12 for UK addresses £13.30 for Europe and £14 for the rest of the world.
