Still Time To Enjoy The Zizzi Festive Set Menus
If you fancy a Christmas meal with a twist you might like the Zizzi Festive Set Menus.
The Classico Menu gives you 3 courses for £19.95 - the majority of the dishes are already on the menu so you might be familiar with these. It is the Super Festive Menu with 3 courses and a tipple for £25.95 where the new festive dishes are.
What they call a tipple though is either House Prosecco or a Passion Fruitini - vodka and psssion fruit purée topped with Prosecco. Alternatively you can have a soft drink instead.
For starters there is the new Mozzarella and Nduja Trees - deep fried trangoli pasta filled with spicy Njuda sausage, mozzarella and burrata served with a red pepper tapenade dip. I found then very hot and spicy - you will need a glass of water to hand.
The mains include the new Venison and Wild Boar Stufato - slow cooked venison and wild boar with sage gnocchi and mushroom in a rich red wine sauce. Served in an edible dough bowl and topped with crispy Prosciutto and sage.
You might be tempted with the Roast Aubergine Rotolo - rolled pasta swirls filled with a roast aubergine, Smoky pepper and tomato sauce. Topped with bufala mozzarella, riserva cheese and crispy sage.
For the vegetarians there is the Rustica Jackfruit Italian Hot - vegan jackfruit pepperoni, spicy harissa, roquito chillis and vegan mozzarella, finished with basil.
I tried the Rustica Snowball pizza - a lot of flavours on one pizza that is best probably shared. Chorizo crumb, crispy pancetta, mozzarella, baby sunblush tomatoes and a whole mozzarella snowball on top in the middle. It might be a little salty too for some, perhaps they make it that way so you buy more drinks?!
For dessert there is one new festive option, the Red Velvet Brownie - red velvet swirled with vanilla cheesecake, sprinkled with white chocolate snowflakes and cocoa sparkle and served with a sour cherry sauce in an edible chocolate cup. If you have a sweet tooth then you will have found a piece of paradise.
