Connect Yorkshire, the not-for-profit business membership organisation has announced McLaren Leeds as its latest partner.

Established in 2002, Connect Yorkshire (CY) is a support group helping ambitious Yorkshire business owners grow their businesses through direct access to some of Yorkshire’s leading entrepreneurs for support and advice through a range of programmes including masterclasses, peer board groups and 1-2-1 mentoring.

The partnership will see Connect Yorkshire’s members gain added value to their membership which will extend to track days and the opportunity to attend exclusive networking events at McLaren’s purpose-built 12,000 square foot showroom in Temple Green, Leeds.

Launching the partnership to Connect Yorkshire’s Entrepreneurs in Residence at an exclusive event held at Bowcliffe Hall, professional drivers from the McLaren Events team brought a range of McLaren 720S Spiders for the entrepreneurs to test drive around the area. During the event, McLaren Leeds had other models from the McLaren range of display, including the McLaren 570S and 600LT.

McLaren Leeds is operated by Glasgow-based Park’s Motor Group and is the firm’s first venture outside of Scotland.

Commenting on the partnership, Sophie Conboy, CEO Connect Yorkshire, said: "I’m delighted to welcome such a prestigious brand to the Connect Yorkshire network. The launch event to our EIR’s demonstrated everything we want the partnership to do, bringing entrepreneurs from across our region together to network at events which add real value.”

Mark Balance, General Manager at McLaren Leeds said: "After an introduction from an existing Connect Yorkshire member it was clear the partnership between McLaren and Connect Yorkshire would be the perfect fit. As McLaren invests heavily into the Yorkshire region over the coming years, we’re passionate about playing a key role in supporting local businesses to thrive and believe this partnership is the way in which to do it."
