Teesside To Heathrow Gets ‘Air’ Boost

The UK’s largest regional airline has increased its service between Teesside International Airport and London Heathrow, improving international connectivity from Tees Valley.
The Loganair service, which started in March this year, will now see three flights per day Monday to Friday, providing greater flexibility for business travellers, with additional international connections now available courtesy of extra flight times.
The increased schedule commences from 12 July, departing from Teesside for the 75-minute flight at the new time of 14.50 in addition to the existing 06.50 and 17.55 services, with return journeys from Heathrow at 08.50 and 19.50 and a new service at 16.40. Weekend services consist of one morning flight on Saturdays and two on Sundays.
The service to London’s largest airport, which has continued to offer a wide range of onward flights despite the impact of the pandemic, will offer ongoing international connectivity to people in the Tees Valley via Loganair interline agreements with British Airways, KLM, Air France, Emirates, Turkish Airlines, United Airlines and Qatar Airways amongst others.
Loganair’s Interline agreements offer single ticket multiple benefits including through check-in, through luggage to final destination and protected connections in the event of delays.
Lead in prices are from £69.99 one way including all taxes, and the additional flight is available to book with immediate effect.
The news comes as the latest step within the partnership between Loganair and Teesside International announced in November last year, which saw the Glasgow-based airline return to Teesside under its new ownership after an absence of two and a half years.
Since then, the airline has also commenced operation of flights from Teesside to Aberdeen and Belfast City, with Dublin, Jersey and Newquay flights set to begin in summer 2021. Loganair will operate up to seven flights per week to Dublin and Belfast City, six flights per week to Aberdeen, three per week to Cornwall Airport Newquay and twice weekly to Jersey.
Loganair’s Chief Commercial Officer Kay Ryan said: “We are extremely pleased to be able to increase operations at Teesside International as we build on our partnership with the airport, offering customers from Tees Valley more flexibility as travel restrictions ease. There is no doubt that this service will provide the timings necessary to support the business growth the area is experiencing, now and in the future.
“Air travel still faces incredible difficulties amid remaining restrictions, however it is crucially important that connectivity across the UK remains in place and this next step to increase operations highlights the continued demand for such services.”
