The Shipley Golf Club Expands With New Team

The Shipley Golf Club today announced the appointment of Alex Carpenter as their new head chef to support their future growth plans of the recently launched Restaurant 19.

Established in 1896, The Shipley Golf Club is tucked away in a beautiful quiet and mature wooded valley at Beckfoot, just outside the town of Bingley, and is already a popular destination for functions in their highly acclaimed Beckfoot Suite catering for members and guests.

Newly appointed head chef Alex Carpenter previously worked for the Devonshire Fell in Burnsall and the Clock Tower Restaurant at Rudding Park, pulling together all types of menus for many different occasions.

Alex Carpenter said: “It’s great to have a blank canvas with Restaurant 19 and I am looking forward to using locally sourced seasonal produce to create delicious menus for all occasions. My vision for our restaurant is to become the Ritz of Bingley with tasting menus, afternoon teas and much, much more.”

Mary Litchfield, House Director, The Shipley Golf Club, said: “It’s great to have such an experienced chef as part of the team and Alex has worked with some of the best chefs throughout his career. Sunday lunches have already become a firm favourite each week and as Restaurant 19 is now open to the public, we’d be delighted to welcome new guests to sample the delicious food Alex and his team produce.”

Shipley Golf Club will host an open day on Sunday 30th January for guests to view the premises and sample some of their produce. Bookings are also being taken for their first Tasting Evening on Friday 28th January.
