Called ‘Shine Out’ it has been written by chairman Carol Squire with music by musical director David Weale.
Carol said:
“The song is very much about peace and hope at Christmas. Given everything that is happening around the world at the moment, we felt this would offer the audience a more thoughtful element to the programme.”
David said:
“There should be something for everyone – lots of well-known tracks as well as a couple of more considered pieces, including the first public airing of 'Shine Out'. The second half will give everyone a chance to join in and sing along to a selection of Christmas favourites and evergreens.”
Being held in aid of ‘Skipton Step into Action’, the concert will feature a first half mix of musical mashups, upbeat swing and iconic pop classics.
The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £12.50 (£10 concessions).
