The Tenmours To Guest At The Skipton Choir's Charity Town Hall Concert
The Skipton Choir - getting ready to perform at the Town Hall
Yorkshire rock band, The Tenmours, are to make a guest appearance at a concert by The Skipton Choir at the Town Hall on Saturday November 23.
Being held in aid of Martin House, the hospice for children and young people across West, North and East Yorkshire, the concert will feature The Tenmour’s debut choir score, We Are Listening. The band and choir will join forces to showcase the song which earlier this year earned the activist group a place as UK national finalists at The European Music Contest in San Marino.
Said choir chairman Carol Squire:
“We are thrilled to be joining forces The Tenmours as part of our concert programme. They are known for forging their following through years of busking original music on UK streets and have now been featured on numerous BBC programmes. It’s a fitting way to celebrate five years since our formation under the leadership of our musical director David Weale-Davey.”
The 70-strong choir will showcase a varied and energetic repertoire of music that will encompass Broadway showstoppers, folk classics and pop hits – from
Fields of Gold to
What Shall We Do with the Drunken Sailor?
Said Carol:
“As a community choir we are particularly proud to use the power of music to support local charities and causes. This year we have chosen to support Martin House which provides a lifeline to so many families. Their current project, THE BUILD, will transform the hospice so they can meet the ever changing and complex care needs of the children who need them.”
