The Vamps Party All Night In Harrogate

If you had wanted to see The Vamps on tour in the past it would have meant you having to see the four piece in an arena.

Currently on their Four Corners Tour which as the name suggests visits all parts of the country playing venues and towns they would not normally visit. Harrogate has probably never seen anything like this for a long time.

The band recently released the Missing You EP which showed the group had grown in writing and developed further. When they have a fanbase as strong as theirs it makes you wonder why the group are not more prominent in the singles chart than they are. Whether streaming is to blame or not you would not know that The Vamps are still as popular as they are.

With bass player Connor Ball nursing a damaged arm, the group were down to a three piece. Lead singer Brad Simpson, full of boyish charm only has to say "Harrogate, how are you feeling?" as the group arrive on stage, to be welcomed by 2,000 mainly female fans.

With the track Just My Type the fans predictably know all the words. "Our job is to make you smile and leave the venue feeling happy" he offers.

The giant video screen behind them shows the video to Wild Heart as the band succeed in covering the whole of the stage now that they are one down in number.

Of course Connor arrives on stage to sing Waves as the rest of the band swap instruments. You wouldn't expect a drum solo during a Vamps gig but it only went to prove what a talented group they are.

Can We Dance was probably the soundtrack to a lot of the audience growing up. Missing You off the new EP provided a contrast followed by closing Number All Night.

The lights go up, the waiting mums and dads are in the foyer, 2,000 happy smiling faces exit the Conference Centre - The Vamps had done a brilliant job yet again.
