Matchday 29 is over, and it brought Sheffield Wednesday their first Championship win after a three-game drought. The 2-0 victory away at QPR was secured in the last 18 minutes of the match, with Michael Smith scoring in the 72nd minute and Callum Patterson in the 88th minute.

Hull City were successful in front of Sheffield United after their surprising 3-0 victory at Bramall Lane. Matt Crooks scored the opening goal in the 6th minute and was followed in the second half by Matty Jacobs’ well taken finish. The score was sealed in the 88th minute when Sheffield United’s Harrison Burrows scored an own goal.

Middlesborough suffered another defeat, this time losing 2-1 away to Preston North End. Losing one-nil at the break, Delano Burgzorg scored for ‘Boro’ in the second half to level the scores. However, Preston’s Jakobsen broke the away fans’ hearts, scoring the winner with just 10 minutes left on the clock.

In League One, Barnsley welcomed Stevenage to Oakwell, but suffered a disappointing defeat. The game looked like ending in a stalemate before Stevenage grabbed the winner in time added on, through Dan Kemp.

Rotherham United travelled to Burton Albion this weekend, but failed to build on last week’s excellent result versus Charlton. The Millers scored the first and last goals of the match, with Sibley and Green getting on the scoresheet, unfortunately in-between, the home side scored 4 goals in the space of 40 minutes to take all three points.

Huddersfield Town’s 16-game unbeaten run came to an end, when they were defeated 1-0 at home to Bolton Wanderers. Aaron Collins scored the only goal of the game early in the second half.

Bradford City continue their six-game unbeaten run in League Two after winning 3-0 at home to Walsall. Antoni Sarcevic opened the scoring in the 11th minute, followed by Alexander Pattison who scored in the 43rd minute before grabbing the second of his brace ten minutes later. A great result against the runaway leaders.
The other two Yorkshire teams from League Two, Doncaster Rovers and Harrogate Town, faced each other on Saturday, with ‘Donny’ coming out victorious. A late winner from Harry Clifton in the 86th minute secured the 1-0 victory for Doncaster Rovers at the Eco-Power Stadium.

In the National League, Farsley Celtic drew 0-0 at home to Warrington Town.
