Traffic Bulletin: M57 Link Road Repairs Near Huyton

A link road which connects two Merseyside motorways will be closed for maintenance work from tomorrow night (Friday 8 May).

The road which links the westbound M62 to the northbound M57 at Tarbock Island near Huyton will be closed for resurfacing and inspection work while traffic levels are around two thirds lower than usual.

Highways England needed to carry out urgent repairs along this stretch of road in February after a large pothole developed in the carriageway during stormy weather.

Drivers are being advised to use the exit slip road from the M57 at junction 6 and the roundabout at Tarbock Island while the maintenance work is taking place, or to turn around at junction 5 which is less than three miles away.

The link road is likely to remain closed for at least a week, and Highways England’s contractors will follow strict Public Health England safeguarding measures while working at the junction.
