Walking The Wilberforce Way – Virtually
The Wilberforce Trust are challenging people to Walk the Wilberforce Way during June - virtually. By signing up to the Challenge participants will be invited to walk or run 60 or 120 miles (one way, or there and back) recording it on their pedometer or app.
Walkers will get sent updates about milestones on the historic walk so that they can work out where they would be if they were doing the actual walk. There is so much evidence of the benefits of getting out into the fresh air, enjoying the countryside and experiencing the joys of nature.
Setting yourself a target is motivating and walking is a great stress buster so register for the event to receive a free t-shirt and eco-friendly wooden medal here: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/charity-web/charity/displayCharityCampaignPage.action?charityCampaignUrl=wilberforceway
Whilst we are still tentatively emerging from lockdown, we can safely enjoy the outdoors with our friends or our family and the funds raised will be spent on the new Living and Learning Zone.
The Centre for people with sight or hearing loss is currently being built near York College and it will be a beacon of hope for anyone experiencing sensory loss.
