Wedding Couples Celebrate At Selby Abbey

Wedding couples, some married in Selby Abbey as long as 65 years ago, got together in the Abbey on Saturday 10th August to relive memories of their happy day and to renew their wedding vows.

Many were joined by their families and attendants from their wedding day.

After a short service conducted by Canon John Weetman and Reverend Neil Woodall they enjoyed a celebration drink and a piece of a special Selby 950th Anniversary wedding cake.

The event was part of Selby’s ongoing 950th Anniversary celebrations and an exhibition of photographs of many couples married in the Abbey over the years is currently in the Abbey and on display until 24th August.
