Wizu Workspace Respond To Government’s Plans To Ease Lockdown Restrictions

Flexible workspace provider Wizu Workspace has pioneered a strict COVID-19 working policy in a bid to safeguard members’ health and wellbeing as they transition back to work.

Responding to the news that restrictions surrounding non-essential workers are to be relaxed, the firm has revealed a host of new protocols and processes that will see changes in the way members can access, use and operate from any of its four Yorkshire workspaces.

From the implementation of online screening tests for visitors, to a significant increase in cleaning procedures and full review of furniture layouts , the firm has taken extra precautions to ensure members can return to a clean, safe and sanitised environment in which social distancing measures can be adhered to.

Tom Almas, CEO at Wizu Workspace said: “We have been working hard behind the scenes to make sure that the transition from lockdown back to work is not only a smooth one for our members and staff, but also protects the wider community by limiting the chance for the COVID-19 virus to reproduce.

“We recognise that the government’s announcement may have caused anxiety for those who have to return to work this week, and so we’ve brought forward the publication of our new protocols and policies.

“Each of these has been designed to ensure we can safely reopen to our members but, we are also ready to adapt to any further guidance that emerges as we get more detail on the government’s road map.”

Like many businesses, the firm’s ability to operate as normal has been severely hindered since the government enforced lockdown across the UK on March 23.

Now, as more members return to work, Wizu Workspace will be closely monitoring the number of people within the building at any one time.

With immediate effect, all members using the workspaces will be asked to keep external visitors to a minimum.

New staff rotas will also allow reception hours to be extended, with a view to encouraging members to be flexible about the hours they choose to have a physical presence within the workspaces.

What’s more, all Wizu staff will be trained and upskilled to ensure they are comfortable with the new procedures, including the new Health and Safety protocols and new Covid-19 escalation and communication processes.

Enhanced bike storage will be introduced to allow members to cycle to work and avoid the use of public transport as advised by PM Boris Johnson on Sunday March 10, and food will be available for delivery at a discounted price to limit the number of people leaving the building during lunchtime rushes.

The firm is putting a strict capacity limit on the number of hot desk users and external meetings that will be allowed in the building to ensure social distancing measures can be safely adhered to at all times.

Tom added: “Like many other businesses across the globe, we’ve been financially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, but the health and wellbeing of our members and staff is more important to us than rushing to rebuild revenue.

“That is why we’ve made the decision to implement these restrictions until we are told by the government that COVID-19 is no longer a threat.”
