Double All Round At Regional Industry Awards

Yorkshire accountancy firm BHP is celebrating after winning two categories at the second Yorkshire Accountancy Awards (YAA).

The firm was presented with the Mid-Tier Firm of the Year and Best Employer of the Year Awards at a ceremony which took place at the New Dock Hall in Leeds.

Winning Best Employer at the YAA follows the firm’s recent recognition by the Sunday Times in its 100 Best Companies to Work For list.

The Yorkshire Accountancy Awards represent firms of all sizes, working with both local and international clients recognising both team and individual efforts within the Yorkshire industry.

Lisa Leighton, Joint Managing Partner, said: “We are extremely proud to have won these two awards. “Over the last 10 years, BHP has experienced significant growth and increase in turnover, and this success is testament to the firm putting its people first.”

Hamish Morrison, Joint Managing Partner, added: “The last 12 months have been crucial for us as a business and this recognition is testament to the hard work of the whole team.”

The Awards also recognised finance management specialist Martin Mellor founder and managing director of Mellor Financial Management, who won Advisor of the Year the second year running.

Having recently celebrated its fourth year in business, Mellor Financial Management has experienced a 300% increase in revenue and continuous year-on-year growth, adding a training arm to its portfolio of financial support packages.

Martin Mellor, commented: “Retaining the title of the advisor of the year award for a second time is a real privilege. We aim to do things differently by not only partnering with our clients but becoming embedded into their team to support them on their journey for growth.
