Yorkshire Artist and Local Author Link Up To Support Charity
Stacey, Hannah and Little Alf with the drawing
Two of Yorkshire’s most talented individuals have linked up to support Brooke Action for Working Horses and Donkeys.
Artist Stacey Moore is delighted to become Little Alf’s official artist with the hope of raising funds for Brooke's ‘Every Horse Remembered’ campaign. The campaign marks 100 years since the end of the First World War and is remembering the lives lost. Stacey has created a commemorative piece of Brooke Ambassador Hannah Russell’s famous ‘Little Alf’ with the symbolic poppy.
Stacey Moore, artist, said:
“It was a joy to draw Little Alf and capture his cheeky character. Being an avid animal lover I’m proud to be supporting such a beneficial charity and raising vital funds for Brooke.”
Hannah Russell, author, said:
“I’ve loved working with Stacey, seeing the drawing come to life has been amazing. Stacey’s incredibly talented it’s brilliant that Little Alf is being used as a symbol to remember the horses, donkeys and mules who lost their lives.”
The original drawing will be auctioned at the annual Brooke Gala Dinner this November by Alastair Stewart OBE and 100% of the proceeds will go to Brooke. There are also 500 Limited Edition prints and 5 Special Edition prints hand embellished with gold leaf available now, with 5% from every sale being donated to Brooke.
Stacey and Hannah both studied at the Wensleydale school and have gone on to become successful young entrepreneurs.
Hannah is most known for writing books about her miniature Shetland Little Alf who has rose to international fame over the past few years, winning awards for their books in New York, US and here in the UK. Little Alf has become quite the celebrity Shetland pony.
In 2018 Hannah and Little Alf where announced as ‘Brooke Every horse remembered’ ambassadors, a campaign launched by the charity to remember the eight million horses, donkeys and mules which died in World War 1.
Stacey has been recognised as one of Yorkshire's leading wildlife artists. Last month she received the finalist award in the ‘New started Business of the Year’ category, at the prestigious Yorkshire Choice Awards. With her gallery celebrating its second birthday the popularity of this talented artist continues to grow.
