Zizzi Sizzle With New Summer Menu

It has been a mixed summer so far but whatever it is doing outside something that always seems to be reliable is the quality and standard of the food at Zizzi, including first class service.

Over the years I have been to various branches and the high standards are matched by friendly service. This was just what we received when we visited the Bradford branch to sample the Summer Set Menu.

It is quite an extensive menu with 2 courses being offered for £14.95 or 3 courses for £17.95. For any canny Yorkshire person this does represent good value.

As well as selecting popular items from the main menu, the Summer Set Menu includes special dishes such as Rainbow Gnocchi for starters and for mains Vegan Rustica Quattro No-Maggi Pizza - one for the Vegans. Perhaps Crayfish Orzotto might tempt you instead?

Rainbow Gnocchi

The Rainbow Gnocchi certainly looked a colourful temptation and it was. Deep fried rainbow Gnocchi, filled with mozzarella that oozed out when cut and melted in the mouth, it was complemented with red pepper tapenade for dipping.

Pork Belly Arrosto

My partner chose for her main the Pork Belly Arrosto. The oven roasted pork belly came with creamy riserva cheese mash, crispy crackling and a Chianti and rosemary sauce. Garlic kale and broccoli are normally served with the meal too, but they had run out so green beans made a perfect substitute. Tender, tasty and cooked to perfection was the verdict, nicely presented too.

Rustica Sofia Pizza

My Rustica Sofia Pizza came with plenty of spicy roasted chicken, pepperoni, crumbled Basilicata sausage, mozzarella, red chillies and rosemary. Hotter than this July, everything seemed to taste strong individuality given that there were so many different tastes on there.

Golden Honeycomb Cheesecake

After this the Golden Honeycomb Cheesecake seemed very indulgent but it was the perfect answer to cool me down. Topped with golden meringues, honeycomb bites and salted caramel sauce it might be too sweet for many but for anyone with a sweet tooth it will be paradise on a plate!

Prosecco Panna Cotta

My partner went for a lighter option - the Prosecco Panna Cotta - a very creamy panna cotta base topped with raspberry and prosecco jelly and strawberries and mint. A delightful summer treat.

If you are watching your weight there are at least 3 options on the main menu that are less than 600 calories.

The summer might not be endless but with over 25 dishes to try on the Summer Set Menu the possibilities are endless.
