Harrogate Autumn Flower Show

Staged at the Great Yorkshire show-ground 16-18 September the Harrogate Autumn Flower Show is Britain's premier autumn garden event as it is the only flower show to offer autumn gardens.

Besides the usual floral exhibits, gardening equipment, giant vegetable competition and food stalls there are some new features for the autumn show.

Green Lane is a row of back gardens packed with ideas and options for making the most of a small space. The scheme has been offered to people who are just starting out in the horticultural world, giving them the chance to showcase their talents to a huge audience. The gardens will be set out against a backdrop of a contemporary street scene.

Developed in partnership with the Association of Professional Landscapes and the Landscape Skills Academy this will be one of the many highlights at the autumn show this year.

Friend or Foe? Will explore the nice things you might find in your garden and will also include giant handmade sculptures. There will also be a living beehive and a wildlife haven, including allotments.

The Dark Side feature will journey through the twilight zone of the gardening world including poisonous plants and the chance to meet some rather creepy carnivores!

If you are looking for advice on growing produce at home the Kitchen Garden Team will be hosting live talks and demonstrations every day of the show. There will also be help and advice with any plant problems you may have in the Dig It Garden Theatre and Garden Advice Bureau.

A regular feature is the Floral Pavilion which will feature over 5,000 autumn blooms where the colour and aroma of the spectacle will test your senses.

With many of the events undercover, even if the weather does turn autumnal it will not spoil what is always a great day out.

Tickets for Friday and Saturday are priced at £17.50 on the gate with Sunday tickets priced at £16.00.
