Creative Pre-School Rewarded With New Playhouse
Children at Markington Pre-school in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, are to be rewarded for their creative skills with a brand-new playhouse from Forest Garden.
To celebrate National Playday which takes place on Wednesday, 2nd August, Forest Garden, the UK's leading manufacturer and distributor of timber sheds, summerhouses, playhouses and garden structures, launched a 'Design a Playhouse' competition, giving pre-schools around the country the chance to win a playhouse from its 2017 range.
The annual National Playday, now in its 30th year, encourages thousands of children and their families to get out and play at hundreds of community events organised across the UK.
Markington Pre-school's winning entry featured a mini pirate's playhouse with a telescope, fireman's pole and climbing net.
"Many congratulations to Markington Pre-school, the children clearly put a lot of thought and effort in to their design, it's fantastic," says Nicola Simpson, head of marketing for Forest Garden. "Play is an essential part of every child's life and being outside naturally heightens their levels of curiosity and engagement, not to mention keeps them highly active. We hope the children at the school enjoy their new playhouse for many years to come."
"We are absolutely thrilled; the children are very excited and can't wait for the new playhouse to be installed. They worked really hard on their design and truly deserve this win, we're so proud of them all," said Gemma Hardwick at Markington Pre-school.
Forest Garden will be installing the new playhouse at the end of the August ready for the children to enjoy in the new school year - and beyond.
Forest Garden offer a wide range of playhouses from the compact 4x4 Peach to the impressive Safe Tower. All playhouses have styrene glazing, magnetic door catches and smooth rounded framing to give a splinter-free finish - designed so your children can play safely.
