Gig Preview: Tegan And Sara - Manchester

Love You To Death, the 8th album from Canadian duo Tegan and Sara, was released last June and has featured in many "best of" lists at the end of last year.

I am glad I have discovered the twins as, although they describe themselves as an indie/pop duo the tracks on the album, for me, are pure pop. You could imagine Kylie singing some of these songs.

The album was produced by Greg Kurstin, who has produced tracks on the last Adele albums. Most notably the single Hello which he also co-wrote. He has also worked with Sia, Kelly Clarkson and Ellie Gouldng.

From the pure pop pleasure of Boyfriend to the ballad 100x it is hard to comprehend why the duo are not more well known in the UK than they are. They supported The Killers on tour and played Sheffield Arena around 5 years ago.

Now the duo return to the UK to play a few selected headline dates and visit the Albert Hall in Manchester on Tuesday 14 February. But with 8 albums to choose from I hope that they play a lot of songs off their latest album.

Hopefully they will not be undiscovered in this country for much longer.
