Interview With Lina

Lina made history by becoming the first Arab to win Israel's biggest TV show, The Voice.

Since then she has released 2 singles in the UK that made the official club chart in this country too.

Now she is going out on the road to support Little Mix on their 37 date arena tour. I caught up with her on the eve of the tour.

WHAT WAS IT LIKE FOR YOU WINNING THE VOICE?

It was an amazing experience, the support was incredible, it gives me great hope for the future.

YOU HAVE THE TOUR COMING UP WITH LITTLE MIX?

Yes, I was very excited. I really like Little Mix. My management sent them some photos and videos and they liked what they saw and invited me on the tour. The tour starts in Aberdeen and we are visiting Sheffield and Leeds in Yorkshire.

I am on stage around 7.10. I am doing 25 minutes on stage, 3 of my own songs and on one of those I play the piano. I do two covers too one of which is the Clean Bandit song, Symphony but it is a different version I do. I'm also doing a cover of the Little Mix track they did with Sean Paul, Hair but my version is a ballad.

WHO ARE YOUR MUSICAL INFLUENCES?

When I was growing up it was Pink, Justin Timberlake, Avril Lavine, The Spice Girls then later on it was Alicia Keys.

WHAT WAS IT LIKE SUPPORTING QUEEN IN TEL AVIV?

That was an amazing experience. It was the first time I have sung in front of so many people, there were 60,000 there. Brian May watched me from the side of the stage then afterwards we went backstage and met the rest of the crew and I also got to meet Adam Lambert.

WHICH ARTISTS WOULD YOU LIKE TO WORK WITH?

The list is so long but Sean Paul would be good, I've met him twice and he was so nice, he's super talented. Ed Sheeran would be great too.

HOW IS THE NEW ALBUM COMING ALONG?

It is out early next year. It is called Walking on A Tightrope. I co wrote a lot of the tracks, they are very personal songs, there are soft tracks on there and dance tracks too. I have worked with some great people on the album such as Eliot Kennedy who has worked with Take That and the Spice Girls.

The Little Mix Glory Days tour visits:
Leeds Arena Saturday 14 October and Monday 13 November
Sheffield Arena Tuesday 17 October and Friday 27 October
