Jools Holland To Jazz Up New Saga Cruise Ship
Music legend Jools Holland is to become the face of The Club -a restaurant and bar on the first ever new build Saga cruise ship, Spirit of Discovery that launches in 2019.
Inspired by the great music lounges of the 1950's, The Club by Jools will be the place to watch live performances, cocktails and dining with resident and guest musicians. In fact Jools and his band will perform a number of live gigs on board this new ship.
He will be tinkling the ivories on the Channel Island Hop Cruise (departing 23 July 2019), Gourmet Spain (departing 3 August 2019) and Natural Scandinavian (departing 17 August 2019).
"There is nothing better than listening to live music in a small, intimate setting where you can really connect with the artists and their music" says Jools.
"Food and music are two of my greatest passions and it's great that Saga are combining the two."
It certainly sounds a different experience to seeing Jools live at his annual autumn shows normally at the Harrogate Conference Centre, Leeds Arena, Sheffield City Hall and York Barbican.
The three cruises that Jools is appearing on all depart from Dover so there will be no airport hassle to contend with.
The price of the cruise includes a chauffeur service to the port up to 250 miles each way or car parking at the port, which is probably of more use to readers from the north. Unfortunately 250 miles from Dover is most likely to be only as far as the Nottinghamshire area.
The partnership between Jools and Saga is for five years.
A little Boogie Woogie on the high seas? Sounds like music to my ears!
