The Business Of Looking And Feeling Good
Women of Yorkshire are currently enjoying more confidence, a more polished style and a general uplift in moods.
It’s all down to Dior-trained Image Consultant Tessa Gray.
Tessa’s mantra is:
"The way you look tells a story.
By defining your image and creating your own signature style, it can work miracles on your personal life and work life too."
She works with women of any age and stage of life, from working mums to CEO’s of multi-million-pound businesses. After some time as a Balmain couturier in Paris where she learnt about the perfect fit and honing her style prowess under the house of Christian Dior as an apprentice she returned to England where she soon realised she needed to share her gift for style and colour.
She could make women feel more confident in themselves and in their clothes, helping them to find the right clothes that both flattered their body shapes but also reflected their characters for both in the work place and at home.
Life moves quickly, and it is easy to disconnect with what your own style is. Tessa has helped two women at different stages of life do just this!
When twenty something Sarah became Event Manager at York Races, having worked as a Personal Trainer for some years, bumping into Tessa at a Leeds Networking event was a turn of fate…
Sarah was ready for her new role, but she was worried her wardrobe wasn’t. Sarah hadn’t needed to dress smartly since work experience in her teens and the thought of it filled her with dread!
The consultation unlocked Sarah’s new look allowing her not only to match her personality to her style, both professionally and personally but also filled her with the confidence to speak at networking events and to love her role.
“I truly realised my passion for making people look and feel good in Paris and how I could do that through tailoring, identifying the right colours and accessorising! I’m passionate about making people look and feel great. You are showing up as you, not as just a suit.” Tessa beams
Hermione is in her late-fifties and has been in the same job for some ten years.
Her wardrobe was a sea of black, and she was enduring a daily struggle of what to wear every day. She was in a rut and felt like she was blending in to the background at work; not only that but her frustration with clothes shopping had reached an all-time high!
A friend of hers recommended Tessa to her and after an initial consultation, Tessa discovered exactly what Hermione needed:
A style which she could own
Tessa got to work on cleansing her wardrobe, identifying the pieces which no longer worked and cherry picking those that could still have life in them yet, a nip or tuck here, a dyed item there. The result was Hermione loves having her photo taken, stands tall and proud and generally feels a lot happier about the way she looks and feels.
“It was such a comprehensive, personalised experience and quite enlightening! My wardrobe is transformed so that everything suits me so much better in colour, style and proportions now. Your expertise has given me the tools to more confidently shop for clothes and has saved me time and money too. Most of all I have my confidence back!” Hermione
Both Sarah and Hermione’s careers were flourishing yet their wardrobes were lacking, but with Tessa’s bespoke styling consultation both women were able to identify their individual style for both work and play.
“It’s so important to check in with ourselves whether our clothes are actually telling the same story as us. This is where I enable people to reconnect with themselves and give them the confidence to re-enter the world.” Tessa
