Oh. My. Word. It's been a long time since I have had a moment where I can write! Goodness, let's think. Christmas came and went, I had 10 days in Australia, and now we're coming up to Easter!
I had good intentions of writing whilst in Australia, but instead turns out I make a wonderful nanny/au pair, and did a bit of jogging, and a bit of relaxing. I did lots of reading, (with one book having me in tears, and if that wasn't enough, I then watched the film, which had the same effect!) I then read another book, and watched that film on the flight home. It was a fabulous storyline, but it did make me think. It was the popular 'Girl on the train'. Well I don't know which train she gets but I never get to look out and people watch! I'd love to of course, but couldn't for lots of reasons.
A) the train goes too fast
B) we don't swing by too many houses
C) I am often crammed into someone's armpit, so wouldn't be able to see out even if I wanted to!
However, as a learning curve, I will try to look out more and write about things outside of the train. Where possible.
Speaking of armpits, last week, the trains were having issues, (this wasn't the day of the strike) so my train had two trains' worth of passengers. I got on, and was standing in the doorway, with about 25 others. Fine, only 20 minutes, not too bad. The train sways a lot so, because I wasn't near a seat handle I could grab, I had to reach for the ceiling rail. Only I am 164cm tall, and don't have long arms, so it was a stretch. I held on tight, but after 5 minutes, had to go onto my tip toes as my arm was being stretched! When I got off, my sides hurt like I'd been laughing too much? Only I hadn't. Obviously. Was this meant to be funny?!

Writing google just reminded me of something. My partner's mum is getting used to her new mobile phone, and learning to use the 'ask google' function. I was there the other night, and she spoke into her phone and said "ok google, what's the football score?" No response. So she said, "Google, can you hear me?". At which I couldn't stop laughing. Out loud. For ages. Brilliant! I think Google must have been tired. Or ignorant!
I've done 15 days without chocolate and without bread. It's amazing what other bad habits you can put in place though! Wine and cheese are the current favourites! However, I do feel quite empowered walking past the Easter Egg aisles. For now. Until the reduced tickets get stuck on.........can I continue the ban until the end of the year I wonder?
