Selling a car privately can be fraught with difficulty. Time wasters who ask incessant questions, don’t turn up for viewings and those that make derisory offers. Selling at auction has become increasingly popular in recent years and for good reason. At the fall of the hammer, the car is sold.

Later this month, the popular car meeting hotspot, Bridge House Farm Tearooms in Wray, Lancashire has teamed up with respected auctioneers Hammer Timed to stage its first Classic Car and Bike Auction. Entries are already starting to flood in and include such diverse machinery as a Mk 2 Ford Cortina and a Mitsubishi Evo 6.

There will be a viewing day on Friday 18th April, with the sale starting at 11 o’clock the following day. There’s an online entry form on the company’s website if you would like to sell your vehicle www.hammertimed.com.

If you have classic car parts or memorabilia to sell, there will also be a timed online auction starting on Saturday 25th April and running through the weekend.

For those yet to visit Bridge House Farm Tearooms, quite rightly named the North West’s premier motoring venue, it is conveniently located close to the Lancashire border with both Yorkshire and Cumbria. The M6 motorway is but a short drive away.

Throughout the summer, there is a regular meet up on the third Thursday of each month, starting at 2pm.

There’s good food and drink and as a regular attendee, always an exciting mix of cars to look at and enjoy.
