Scarborough Gymnastics Academy - A small community gymnastics club with an international reputation is calling for urgent support to overcome a major barrier to its continued success: the limitations of its current building.

Round 1 of the inaugural Nations Championship will begin on Saturday, 4th July, as New Zealand faces France in Christchurch, New Zealand, to kickstart this new cross-hemisphere tournament. To celebrate the ‘100 Days to Go’ milestone to this fixture, London’s iconic landmark Nelson’s Column was illuminated with the team colours and crests of all 12 competing nations.

The European Figure Skating Legacy project, an innovative project which was created to help young people in Sheffield to learn how to skate, has been selected as a finalist in the 2026 Move More Awards. The project, which was a joint initiative between Sheffield City Council, Everyone Active, British Ice Skating and UK Sport, has been nominated for the Community Project of the Year category.

The 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Paralympic Games came to a close this week, with ParalympicsGB competing in Wheelchair Curling and Para Alpine Skiing. ParalympicsGB won a silver medal (Para Alpine Skiing Men’s VI Super Combined).

England remained undefeated in their group stage matches, having not conceded a single goal, before they put on their most convincing performance to defeat Malaysia 7-1 in the semifinal.

Rowan Campbell-Pilling, Yorkshire and Sheffield’s rising motorsport star, has officially announced his partners for 2026 ahead of his debut season in the UK’s premier single-seater category, the GB3 Championship. The teenager, who made his international debut in last year’s F4 UAE Trophy Series, has collected over 30 trophies in the past two years.

Two-time Olympic champion Helen Glover has teamed up with Aldi in a bid to get kids in Sheffield outdoors during the ‘wetter and colder’ months. This comes after new research shows that many families across Sheffield go into ‘hibernation mode’ during winter, with 42% of Sheffield primary school-aged children spending 20 minutes or less outdoors each day.

Over 600 athletes will compete across nearly 80 medal events at the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games, which will officially commence on 6th March. Six sports will feature at the games, with ParalympicsGB having representation in four of those sports across the 12 days of Paralympic action.
