Leeds Muay Thai fighter Hannah Brady only took up the sport at 25 but is now preparing to defend her WBC featherweight world title in Perth, Western Australia, on 7th March. She’ll meet Australian champion Shannon Gardiner over five three-minute rounds. “I prepare for my bouts with eight weeks of intense training, so that started on New Year’s Day.

It’s a Happy, Haddon Christmas Wharfedale were handed a late victory with a Haddon penalty on the stroke of full time. This was to steal a victory from Billingham who had dominated most of the game. Billingham were in control for 65 minutes until Dale started to play, scoring two tries and the final pickpocketing penalty.

Max Litchfield Wins European Short Course Swimming Championships Silver Medal
Max Litchfield won silver in the men’s 400 IM at the 2025 European Short Course Swimming Championships, taking Great Britain’s final medal tally to 11. To round off his 2025 short course season, Max Litchfield took home a men’s 400 IM silver medal from the Championships in Lublin after finishing with a time of 4:03.25.

Wharfedale’s makeshift side travelled down the M1 to Abbeydale in Sheffield and put in a superb performance. Only in the last quarter of the match did the league leaders pull away and create a score that was a little flattering. This was not a gallant display by the men in green but a performance full of determination, Dales grit, and working to a united cause.

This year’s World Skateboarding Tour (WST) concluded over the weekend as skateboarders from 45 nations came together to compete in Japan’s southernmost island of Kyushu. 184 skateboarders took part in the finale which began on Thursday 27th November with both the men’s and women’s finals taking centre stage on Sunday 30th November.

Sheffield Student Secures 14 Medals Across Two Major International Kickboxing Championships

Year 11 student Finlay from Sheffield’s Birley Academy took home 14 medals from two Kickboxing World Championships in October. Across these two championships, Finlay competed against athletes from over 15 countries which included Brazil, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and the USA.

Lewis Hamilton has experienced a torrid debut season for Ferrari after so much pre-season hype about what he hoped to achieve in red, and it has become something of a never-ending nightmare for the seven-time champion. It continued at the previous round in Las Vegas and then again in Qatar, with abysmal qualifying performances leaving the 40-year-old understandably very despondent.

Huddersfield and AFC Wimbledon shared a breathless contest at the John Smith’s Stadium, an affair defined by momentum swings, defensive lapses, and sustained periods of pressure from both sides. Across a chaotic ninety minutes, neither side ever truly looked in control, yet both produced enough quality to feel they might have taken more from the match. The tone was set almost immediately.

A strong Macclesfield outfit dominated play in the second half and ran out worthy winners. Dale attacked from the kick-off, and a box kick was regathered, and the ball was sent wide to the right. The move ended with an attacking 5-metre line-out which Dale won. Dan Stockdale opened the scoring for Wharfedale from a good catch and drive for an unconverted try.

This match looked like the usual tale of woe for Wharfedale on a trip to Humberside. The opening 30 minutes saw Dale playing some pretty poor rugby and the home side holding a 16-point lead. The play was summed up by one piece of possession in Hull’s half. The ball was sent down the line with every pass slightly behind the receiver and then the final pass going into touch!

Another cracker at the Avenue, in front of a good-sized crowd, finished with Fylde taking 5 points back over the Pennines. Dale opened the scoring when Fylde lost the ball on their 22, and Ollie Riddiough, seeing the blind side was weakly defended, set up Alfie Weston for a try. Archie Haddon converted.

Wombwell Boxers Winning Medals In Swansea International Tournament

Wombwell’s Fight Team Boxing (FTB) sent a team of ten to the International Combat Organisation’s (ICO) world championships in Swansea and were delighted to return with seventeen medals, including four gold and ten silver. Over 800 athletes from eighteen countries participated, with Team England winning the most medals, followed by the USA and Wales.
