Album Review: No Limits Compilation

This 3 CD compilation draws together some of the best dance tracks of the 1990s. This was a time when dance tracks crossed over to the mainstream and entered the upper reaches of the charts.

With some of these tracks being over 20 years old you might think that they sound dated but most have worn very well. Of course the album starts off with the title of the compilation, 2 Unlimited and No Limits, the track at the time sounded unlike anything else but you can hear how it has influenced so many of today's Electronic Dance Music tracks.

Elsewhere there is the pop majesty of Haddaway and his pan European hit, What Is Love, Culture Beat keep the Euro vibe going with Mr Vain and who can forget Scatman John with Scatman.

There is the big hit that had everyone doing the silly dance to it with Saturday night by Whigfield along with the classic and timeless Gypsy Woman from Crystal Waters which is nearly as good as the Robin S classic, Show Me Love also included here.

The album would also be a good soundtrack to a Christmas party as well as a summer one.

4 out of 5.
