Celebrating A-level Success

The head boy and head girl at Ripon Grammar School led from the front in this year’s A-level results, gaining an impressive clean sweep of nine A*grades between them. Tom Wilkinson will take up his place to read physics with astronomy at Durham University and Molly Cushing to secure her place reading history at Cambridge.

Top results times three have added up to success for a talented musical trio of Ripon Grammar School maths students, Jake, Ben and Barnaby who have landed dream courses at elite universities.

A Level students at The Sheffield College have maintained the highest ever pass rate in their results today – August 10th, 2021.

The pass rate for all students, including those aged 19-plus, is 98% this year - which is the same as last year and was the College’s highest ever results.

Charlie Kelly who secured an assisted place to attend Bradford Grammar School (BGS) in the Sixth Form will be heading to Cambridge University after securing A* grades across the board in her A Levels. She says this has helped her realise her dreams of being an inventor.

Will Luxton, 18, a student at Bradford Grammar School (BGS), one of Yorkshire County Cricket Club’s youngest team members was celebrating today after scoring highly in his A Levels. He was delighted after securing an A grade in business, B in history and B in physical education.

Queen Elizabeth Grammar School Wakefield has today received an excellent and well-deserved set of A-level results. The impressive results are a fitting culmination to the 2021 leavers’ time at QEGS.

Jonathan Osunde and Joseph Gueli are both going to continue their studies at Cambridge University in the fields of Architecture and Law respectively.

Twins, Ben and Dan Cousins are both going to their first choice universities. Having studied the same subjects at A level, Ben is going to York to study Geography with a year in industry, with Dan heading to Newcastle for History. This is a busy week of celebration for the boys as they turn 18 tomorrow!

And Head Boy, Swapnil Sahoo is pursuing his dream of a career in Medicine at the University of Leicester, having been awarded a prestigious Centenary scholarship at the start of his studies.

Wakefield Girls’ High School has announced another stellar set of A-level results, with half of their students celebrating straight A* and A grades awarded in three or more subjects and two-thirds of students achieving grades A* to B. This follows an unprecedented 18 months’ period of blended learning.

UTC Sheffield City Centre students are celebrating moving onto top universities and employers after receiving their academic and technical results today – Tuesday, August 10th, 2021.

At the Ofsted graded ‘good’ technical school for 13 to 19-year-olds, students complete A Levels and technical qualifications in engineering and advanced manufacturing or creative and digital media.

This summer, students are progressing to a range of destinations including apprenticeships with leading employers such as Arup, Gripple, Nifylift, Atomising Systems and Sherwin Williams and university places including the University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University, University of Surrey, University of Brighton and Bristol University.

Students at Giggleswick School have secured places at a range of higher education institutions, both home and abroad, after receiving excellent A Level results.

A total of 59 students took their A Levels at Giggleswick this year, including Jack Harrison from Settle who has been accepted into the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama; Jessie Silk from Skipton who has secured a place at Edinburgh University and Katie Bagshaw from Ilkley who will be studying veterinary medicine at the University of Surrey.
