Lakeside Miniature Railway
The Lakeside Miniature Railway runs from the station outside Southport Pleasureland to the station at Marine Parade, and offers curious children a chance to marvel at the oldest continuously running 15-inch gauge railway in the world! The historic track was built in 1911, and was originally named ‘Llewelyn’s Miniature Railway’. It was renamed ‘Lakeside Miniature Railway’ when the first diesel-driven trains started running, and still entertains many families today with its remarkable heritage. Tickets are very reasonably priced, with families able to enjoy a leisurely return journey for only £15.
